we have sky hd in one room where the epg allows 'anytime' and keeps the picture on screen whilst you peruse menus and sky+(white box) in another room on a std def tv with the old epg where to peruse menus you must leave programmes and there is no anytime option.

my son has just been round a friends and claims that he has a sky+ white box like ours but his has the more up to date epg with anytime etc.

Does this sound feasible (I don't think so!)? If so how do I force ours to update?
Thanks.

My understanding of sky is that you need to have the box connected to the phone line for software updates and the like. Just thought it might be something you would want to check....
