focus remote failure

my keyfob to my 2001 focus occasionally stops working when i try to open my door.i have replaced the battery and reprogrammed it via the ignition which works for a couple of days then stops again.i only have 1 fob so if i buy another fob,can i reprogram it via the ignition or do i need 2 working fobs to do this as i've been told.any info would be greatly welcomed

No you dont need 2 working fobs, i myself have looked into this as i have the same problem with my ford puma 2001 only my fob wont lock the doors
