Unhealthy living?
27 Answers
Is it just me thinking or does everyone here seem to drink everyday all day? I"ve grown to know everyones favorite tipples, and can name a million threads in which having a drink or asking what others are drinking. Is this normal? I hardly see any threads saying "Sod junk food what's the healthiest meal I can prepare today" Or "Im going jogging" Or who's going to the gym" I do understand that many of the users here are elderly but surely its about prolonging your life and staying healty instead of admitting defeat and going out in a blaze of glory? Maybe in the future I may start a Liver transplant company aptly named "Livers4u'' Reckon I'll make millions just here! Anyway I'm off out for a drink myself!
Bye all.
Bye all.

I guess you are picking up on leisure-time threads, nr rubix when people are relaxing after a day at work, or others who are enjoying summer outings where a nip into the pub often comes with lunch.... There are several people posting regularly who bike and jog and swim, I think you've signed in at a particularly alcolholic time!
What tips it for me about this 'healthy living' lark is I had an uncle who was tea total and never smoked died of a stroke aged 38. My Grandfather never drank and never smoked and was very slim and fit, died of a heart attack aged 57. I have an uncle of 89 who has smoked since the age of 15 has been overweight for most of his life and drinks a bottle of wine a day. I also have an aunt of 69 who drinks (at least) a bottle of whisky a day.
Now far be it for me to say what is healthy and what's not but the statistics in my family don't support the 'healthy living' theory. I think the length of your life is in your genes the day you are born. Doesn't matter what you do, when your times up, it's up,

why does it bother you rubix, what others do?
I smoked and gave it up, my choice, I don't want to give up the lifestyle I have, I don't ask anyone to buy my bottle of Vodka or my fish and chips, I pay for it myself, I am still 14-16 in size, I have exercise if and when I want it, personally I get fed up of people who want us to change!

Why the assumption that everyone is elderly??
And why the assumption that those elderly live on booze and fags??
If people appear to be drinking when they come on here it is because they are on AB during their leisure time.
I've not had a drink in about 3 weeks....yet I am quite capable of putting back a fair amount when I WANT to. I eat both healthily and junk-depends on my mood, and I've just acquired a dog-so I walk 1 1/2 and 2 hours per day.
