classifying philosophers

I have to do a project for school and i have to classify philosophers by what they are identified by. My teacher gave this example: Enlightment~Empiricism. So are all the philosophers in the enlightment period empiricists? And if so, what would you call philsopohers from the anitiquity, middle ages, baroque, etc. Are all the philosophers in the Romanticism period, romantices? please help

Not all philosphers in the Enlightenment were empiricists. But in the early and middle parts of the period all the important ones were. The big work of this period was John Locke's Essay Conerning Human Understanding. Towards the end of the period however, Immanuel Kant's very important work Critique of Pure Reason showed the limits of empiricism.

I'm not sure about the rest of your question. Most philosophers of the middle ages were Christian philosophers. And the most important thinker of the Romantic era was Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Solipsism was prominent in this period, so maybe that's what your teacher is looking for. But Idealism was also prominent, particularly in Germany.
