I am having a new FSD gas cooker delivered tomorrow and I need it to be installed. I have been quoted some prices but they seem very expensive. Can anyone tell me what I should expect to pay The installer must be CORGI registered. Many thanks

Too many variables to be accurate. A short time ago a fitter charged £75 to fit my mother's cooker, lucky if he was there half and hour.
You pay for the knowledge and responsibility rather than the effort made.
Get a few quotes avoid the very high and very low ones, pick one near the low end of those left.
Like OG says you pay for the responsibility that the fitter takes on. easy job or not, would you spend a term in jail for gasing someone for £75?

I believe Gas Safe is the new gas appliance fitting requirement.. not CORGI anymore..
Hi, I have recently had new gas cooker and when the gas safe fitter comes they have to connect the gas pipe to the cooker first before it's plugged in to the bayonet fitting which needs sealing and they test the appliance for leaks and make sure it's working properly. So not just a case of plugging it in if you want to be safe not sorry.
