Hi, I'm hopefully getting a 50'' plasma and want it wall mounted. It will be on a outside wall and I know it should take the weight. How can I make sure it does if that makes sense! I'm buying the recommended bracket, just don't want it to fall off!!!! The plaster in my house is not the best, do the fixings go in to the brick?
The bracket will come with its own recommendations but anticipate it wanting screws at least 75mm long which go through the plaster on the surface (about 20mm thick) and into the brick/block hard material behind.
A DIY-shed operative would be able to help you select the right sort of fixings, including a Rawlplug or similar masonry fixing.
Do you have an electric hammer drill capable of drilling into the wall?
The wall will certainly take the weight if its an outside wall, as long as the correct fittings are used and the screws and wall plugs are man enough and its put up correctly then there will be no problem.
Thank you for my early morning smile....lol I wondered why I got so many answers so quickly! Thank you for the sensible answers, much appreciated!
But thank you more to Salla and co for making me start my day with a giggle!
You do up the nut with a spanner and the sides grip the wall - they take a gigantic weight
There are a few types -these have a thread at the end so you hang them and put another nut on the end - I'd guess that'd probably be best - but there are also screw and bolt headed ones
