in the old days nobody was obese but there were plenty of fatties
School dinners were a god send for me. No breakfast, not even a drink. 5pm we had a jam sandwich. At school dinner time I would eat my own and anything anyone left. Sat and Sun we had next to nothing. Now I am 6 foot tall and as thin as a rake. I blame the fact that I was not fed enough as a child.
Hi micmak from Scotland...
My mum used to do stuffed hearts boxy. I could just about about eat those, but I drew the line at tripe!!!!! YUK!!!
Hi poodi♥ Glad to hear it. No offence was intended.
Gee lardy, I'd forgotten, my dad liked tripe and onions, when it was draped all over his plate it looked like a dimply eiderdown. Bleah.
I knew that micmak,others notxx
I think she tried us with sheeps brains aswell boxy - they got a wide berth aswell
I absolutely love tripe and onions. We used to have it every Saturday. The type I liked best was brown, I think it was called reed. I don't have it now sadly, but doubt very much if it would taste like my mother's.
Also Rice Pudding with thick brown skin on. You've set me off now!!
Rice pudding with brown skin - gerrrross! And bread pudding? 'orrible!
lol alexandered, I have seen a few I would catagorise as obese but obviously BMI didnt exist then.. ;)
Bread and butter pudding - yummy.
hellywelly, I know it's decadent but Marks & Spencer do the most beautiful bread and butter pudding..............
No, bread pudding helly, not bread & butter pudding. Two completely different things. Bread pudding's brown with raisins and sultanas and tastes like carpet slippers
