I'm not sure about the smell but the database of recipes for the BBC Good Food magazine (together with its sister publication, Olive) has 53 recipes using cauliflower:

i always add a whole cauli to whatever curry i make, it just seems to suit a curry so well. also this delia smith recipe:

i can't resist a nice big, white cauliflower. i cut it up like a cake if it's a big 'un, into quarters and use it up that way. if they're fresh they'll keep in the fridge for quite a while.
Cauliflower rice Grate it with a coarse grater and cook quickly until just about as tender as grains of rice, in a wok or deep pan put some cumin seeds, fresh coriander and a bout !/2 teaspoon of turmeric and a little chopped garlic add a tablespoon of oil and fry gently until the spices start to smell 'cooked' add the cooked cauli and stir it until it is coated....lovely with chicken tikka
I will try that Rowan. I'll try it with applejack pork steaks.
Look down for the cauliflower puree.....I think there is a video as well. Looked yummy
