System Mechanic Pro?
7 Answers
System Mechanic Pro has been recommended to me and I have been told to uninstall AVG and buy SMP, which will speed up my computer and fix any errors (so says my brother in law). Does anyone use SMP and/or have any comments about it please?
Thanks in advance. xxx

Have a look here on amazon at people who have used it and say they had many problems AFTER they used it (scroll down for 1 star and 2 star reviews).
Methinks this product tries to do too much and is probably not that great at any of them.
If you want PC security on your computer then get some from a company who concentrate on PC security like McAfee, Kapersky, AVG, Avast, Norton or whatever.
Dont get PC security from a company who offer to do loads of things to your PC, INCLUDING PC security.

Can I also say to be wary of products that claim to "speed up" your PC.
While they make be able to fix a few small problems the most they are likely to speed it up is 1 or 2 percent, hardly noticable.
There is often no "magic bullet" for speediing up a PC, and often a complete reinstall of Windows will give the best performance improvement.
If a product like this makes afew small changes you are hardly likely to notice much difference in performace, and as I said, it could make your PC worse.
