PRINTER PROBLEM
10 Answers
I have a HP 840c Deskjet brought 4 years ago. I have hp pavilion 7891 with windows ME. I have just purchased a mobile phone which has digital photos. These photos look brilliant on the computer screen but when I print them out, the colouring is way off. This being the first time I've ever printed off a photo, I have rang a print test and colour clean up and the pinks (magenta and a lighter pink) and blue colours (turquoise and navy) print but no yellow (ceylon). Is this why I have a problem??? Should there be more colours?

REPLACE THE CARTRIDGE???
THIS IS A NEWISH CARTRIDGE. FROM NEW, THIS HASN'T PRINTED CORRECTLY BUT HAVE ONLY REALISED THAT THE YELLOW APPEARS TO NOT WORK.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO NOW THEREFORE BUTTON IS "HAVE I SWITCHED/UNCHECKED A BOX SOMEWHERE??? WHICH TURNS THE 'YELLOW' OFF?" YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW LESS THAN I DO ABOUT CARTRIDGES SO LEAVE TO THE EXPERTS PLEASE AS I WOULD LIKE AN ANSWER TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THANKS.
Right, we are all trying to help so if you dont apperciate it then do one. I used to work loads with HP, Chances are you tri-colour cartridge is done for, just replace that cartridge (maybe the anti-gelling agents have dried) but in future, if you are going to deal out abuse to people who try to help you then dont bother at all. Regards
Deal out abuse? That's you I think. My question was a little more technical. My cartridge is 3 months old. I have never used any photo printing. Only colour printing I have EVER done has been the odd thing off the internet. This cartridge - I assumed - was not faulty and that the answer I was given I thought flipant. Again, I WAS NOT BEING ABUSIVE and use this site regularly and have my problems solved, and solve problems for others too. Sometimes you receive answers that are like the one I was left "change your cartridge then" and sometimes - with other people - we have a laugh about it. I am concerned that you think I am abusive. A friend of mine (whom is currently abroad) had the SAME problem about 3 years ago. I would think this is a little more technical than simply changing the cartridge however; if you have technical background, then I shall go and buy another. But - for the record - this is the 2nd cartridge I have bought and the colours haven't been right(which is why I am posting the question here). I only realised that the 'yellow' was absent when I ran a 'printer check.' I therefore believe this to be more complicated but - as you are technically aware - I will change my cartridge AGAIN.
PLEASE LET IT BE KNOWN HOWEVER, THAT I AM NOT, AND HAVE NEVER BEEN ABUSIVE SO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BEING RUDE TO ME.
THANK YOU.
