how many possible 9x9 suduko grids can there be ....there has to be a definite answer ....or not ?

9 to the power of 9 I guess minus repetitions (sorry, that could be completely wrong, maths isn't my specialist subject). But each one could then be presented in many different ways - ie with different numbers already there. So...ermm.... well, enough to last my lifetime, anyway.

You might get a more authoritative answer if you posted this under Quizzes & Puzzles, all you get here is Big Brother and Lemony Snicket stuff.
