BBC iPlayer isn't an program. It's a website, in the same way that Youtube is. It uses certain software on your PC to display sounds and pictures but you wouldn't want to remove that software as it's required when visiting other websites.
If you've downloaded the BBC iPlayer DESKTOP (which you don't need to watch programmes), instructions for removing it are here:

To uninstall follow the steps below:-
Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" icon.
Double-click on the "Security Center" icon. A pop-up window will open detailing all of the security features you currently have running on your computer.
Click on "Change the Way Security Center Alerts Me" underneath the "Resources" tab on the left side of the window.
Remove the check in the box next to "Virus Protection." This will disable all alerts concerning your current antivirus program.
Go back to the main Control Panel window and double-click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
Find your antivirus program in the list of installed applications and then click on the "Remove" button.
Run through the installation removal program. Once the process finishes, the antivirus application will be removed from your computer.
