I have been looking round my local Lidl store but to be honest have dare not buy any of their foreign food and drink, does anyone have any pointers as to what is the best buys in this store please as I am a bit curious to try a few things there...alcohol, sweets, etc etc etc
a friend of mine works for a meat processing company and shes a real foodie lol
she buys from aldi and lidl from time to time and has also said that the specifications that they give for their prepacked hams etc are miles better than the likes of the larger supermarket chains.
JJ, not only trains, but awake people on 'em, working.... (I was reading one of the NHS White Papers at 7am today on the train, but I don't want to brag).
I bet that is really nice JJ. I love the early mornings, my Dad used to get up early and work his allotment before he went to the office, I think I get it from him. However, he was usually in bed by 9 pm... unlike moi.
Being a man, I leave food goods to OH and I just get non food products which I have found to be of VG quality and mainly cheaper than elsewhere. I use Aldi`s mainly as they are nearer to my home.
jj, the wine you may buy in spain, france or portugal, on a sloppy night out may be just acceptable, but trust me, a wine connoseur of many years, lidl have no buyers capable of selecting other than by name, they are to all serious wine drinkers, stowells rejects
Personally, if I like a wine I don't care where it comes from or whether it is cheap or expensive. I have hated some really 'good' wines and loved some cheap plonk. Too much snobbery attached to wine imho.
