I know I should post this in animals & nature but I'm hoping I'll get more answers here.........................

as you can see from my posting above, I have about 3 neighbouring cats that come into my garden and leave a deposit of poo for me, they go to my other neighbour to 'steel' her cats food & then unkindly leave a mess in my garden which is becoming more and more of a problem for us.
I love cats but how can we resolve this problem? apart from lion/tiger poo, chilli powder (which hasn't worked). I'm using a spray called 'get off' at the moment but need something better - can anyone help/recommend something for me please.
Mr jd wants to put something on the fence to stop them coming over but what can we put there? can't & don't want to put barbed wire there.

This works a treat and it doesn't do them any harm. I've actually got one in the house as my cats started weeing at the front door after a friend visited with his dog.

Buy yourself a super soaker toy water gun - a big one. This is the sort that you pump up to pressurise, and unleash a powerful jet

Have fun attacking the cat in a humane way. Even go as far as flinging jugs of water at it.
Eventually the cat will get fed up.

PS Dris I thought you said shoot it, but then realised you said shoo.
The last time I had this problem, I used the pressure wash, to knock it off the wall it took the hint and started going else where
You can't stop cat's doing whatever they want, wherever they want. barbed wire wouldn't stop them. As craft said, A dog would work
In a humane way??
Yes, water may upset them, but not hurt them.
the pressure washer idea sounds interesting .... how many bar/psi would you recommend?
Not much kirky - high pressure water jet at close quarters can hurt their internal organs, they are only little. A water pistol is just as effective, I can vouch for that.
don't worry boxy .... my aim's not so good so I think it's elbow'ole is safe ....
:-) that's all right then

A dog would work, but you would find that having a cat of your own would work better, preferably a male cat! He would not tolerate other cats in his domain!...May be your best bet!.....He would need to be nuetered, otherwise he would attract females! not good!......My cat, will not tolerate any dogs or cats in his domain! He is nuetered, and very dominant!...........
Great idea, Boxtops, but where would your own cat defecate?
lay flower beds with thorny stalks from rose bushes et al.
but you can't freshen up the patio slabs with a dog ...
Plant Coleus canina. Cats absolutely hate it!
...litter tray in the garden, Hopkirk - sounds daft, but they use it.
