Emotive headline used on purpose. I do not like fundamental Islam, and I am sad that a small number of British Muslims practice it and inflict it on their children, but that does not make them Taleban.

They are following a form of Islam called wahhabism which originates in Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are our friends (allegedly) but the Taleban are not.
/// I do not like fundamental Islam, and I am sad that a small number of British Muslims practice it ///

Phrases like these Gromit are often quoted, but who actually knows and can back it up with facts, that there are only a small number of fundamental Muslims in Britain?

The phrase the man used should send a shiver down the spine of everyone who has the capacity to think for themselves...

“I am not an educated man, so I must listen to them.”

The man is a fool. Not because he's uneducated but because he's clearly aware that he's uneducated and yet armed with that self realisation, still seems resigned to living a life of intellectual and religious slavery.
Birdie, unfortunately that doesn't apply solely to the uneducated.
Naomi – True. It's such a shame.
What concerns me most here,is that i would consider yasmin to be a very middle of the road/liberal British muslim...not given to undue scare articles!! I respect her worries accordingly :-(
Linda, that's precisely the point. When someone like her says what she's saying, only a blinkered fool would refuse to listen.
