Moving Day.

Hello to all.
We are soon to move off a very busy main road, and the removal lorry will have to park on this main road, so i think that some kind of traffic control will be needed, can anyone tell me if the highways agency, or the local council provide this? if so, who organises this? and would we have to foot the bill for it?
Many thanks for any help on this one.

The Highways Agency is only responsible for these roads:

Everything else comes under your county/unitary/metropolitan council. Their highways department might like to be told about the potential obstruction to the road but, in practice, as Sara3 indicates, it's the Traffic Section of your local police force which might be the most interested (and, possibly, the most helpful).
