POSH HATS
3 Answers
Does anyone know how to dye a hat without ruining it. The hat has been stored in a proper hat box but the colour has begun to fade and it looks patchy. It is made of the fabric that most wedding hats are made of at the moment, so fabric paint probably wouldnt work as it would get stuck in the small holes. It has been suggested that mixing starch powder with the dye would help so long as it is not kept in the water for long. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

The synthetic materials that (wedding) hats are made of today make dying them virtually impossible. The material has stiffener & glues pressed into tham. as soon as you put any liquid on them they wilt. (ask anyone who's been caught in the rain) Soo not a good idea flopsy.
Can't you borrow or hire one?
I'm in Essex I've got a nice cream one you could borrow.

How about if she experimented a bit? wind a lilac feather boa around it, or a wide piece of ribbon and make a nice bow.how about buying a bunch of lilac coloured asters and link them like a daisy chain around the hat a bit of fern and bobs your uncle.
No one will have a hat like that. I hope she finds what she's looking for.
