As part of a divorce settlement my ex-husband now has to give me a one off payment of £5000 which was agreed 12 years ago. How much is that worth (approx) now?

Allowing for inflation it would be aprox £6,200.

Surely it's worth £5,000 now regardless of when it was agreed?

Or did you mean it was agreed 12 years ago that he'd give you the equivalent of £5,000 in 1998 now?
