35 across Earl, in essence cold, is Shakespear's achievement (8)
34 across Repeat test, bringing in second counter (6) with this I'm assuming Redo + mo
Also I'm completely blank on what the theme is!
Any help gratefully received!

Hi ripper, do you have 24a? If so, you should be familiar with recent natural phenonema there. The theme should render you thoroughly grounded.

Thank you judypark for the hint about 24 across. I couldn't work out 25 down as I had the wrong answer in 24 and didn't realise it - until I saw your comment and the penny dropped! 25 down now makes sense.

When it says four possible causes of such movement etc........ I know what I'm looking for, I've found two symmetrically placed, but does it mean the other two are of the same length?
