Does opening my phone to all networks affect the insurance?

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
You must register the following details about your phone for cover to
commence:
• The make and model of your phone
• Your mobile phone number
• Your mobile phone service provider
• Your phone’s IMEI number (this can be identified by keying in *#06# on the
keypad of your phone)

These are the requirements for joining the insurance company....
They are asking for my service provider information! which is different to the original handset because i had the phone unlocked to all networks.
Will the insurers know the real service provider of this phone by the IMEI number etc?

It probably won't effect the insurance but either way you are better off being truthful with them.

If you don't tell them now that it's unlocked it may stop them paying out in the event of a claim.

It's the service provider that put's the lock in (part of custom software) so I can't see that could effect manufacturers guarantee.
Some new fancy phones (like Nokia N series) have a manufacturers lock applied, and unlocking may well effect operation of phone and effect and claim.
If you used a 'clip' or a code unlock, just insure normally.
