anniversary ideas

any ideas how we can celebrate an anniversary over a weekend. we want to do something special, not go to our usual favourite restaurant nor stay in a hotel particularly. we arent keen on spa treatments. any ideas? i do know i would like some champagne truffles that i saw in fortnum and mason!

Go to London for the weekend, and buy your own AT Fortnum & Mason!

take Eurostar to Lille, Paris or Brugge, pay a bit extra and have lunch/dinner on the train both ways, went to Lille a couple of years back for our 20th anniversary and had a lovely weekend there. Or a day out on the Orient Express.

we go into london quite alot so wouldnt do this as something special. paris would be a no, no, wouldnt want to be surrounded by people who hate us! did think of the orient express but looks pricey. this is a hard one, id like to go somewhere ive never been before yet would hate to go somewhere new that i maybe wouldnt like.... and he married me, he must deserve a medal!

how many years are u celebrating, traditional gifts for the years are sometimes brill. on ur fifth which is wood, i come home to my garden complete with decking and trellis not everyones cup of tea but i thought it was very thoughtful
