What next? Who is liable?
I purchased a pram/stroller system last June from a well know London store. The system is also produced my a very well know company that has been around for over 100 years. The fabric started to change to an orange shade (originally a charcoal grey). I contacted the manufactuer and before I had a chance to explain - they told me...is it such and such....we know about the fabric problem. Anyway, they sent all new fabrics out (June2010). Anyway, last week noticed the same thing. Contacted them again. They can only offer me a completely different fabric/colour. After deliberation, I accepted. They then told me that they would have to arrange collection for the system to go to their service centre for everything to be changed. This will take 5 days. Well there is no way I can be without a stroller for 5 days. I asked them for a loan buggy - no. They have now told me that should I want a refund, I will have to go back to the store. Is this correct when they knew and know that there is a problem with this product and have been dealing with it??? Should they not be providing me with a loan buggy?? They can't seem to give me the fabric I chose as it's faulty. There was no recall on this item.
Any help would be really appreciated. Many thanks

there would only be a recall if the item had a proper fault - a dangerous one.
this one is i imagine one that a lot of people wouldnt really care about, and doesnt affect the safety of the stroller
this may be why they wont give you a replacement - as its just a cosmetic issue - i suspect they are hoping you just wont bother...
refunds always start with the point of sale.
