To collect a pension you would have to have paid enough stamps, which i don't think the Royal Family do. Bus pass is a different thing, not being means tested. There was a wickedly funny cartoon in the Times a few months back after the general election, depicting the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in full regalia emerging from Westminster tube station for the state opening of parliament, with the Duke saying, "Bloody Osborne and his cuts".
