Hopefully someone with better geographical knowledge than me can assist. We are taking the children to Scotland next week and heading back from Edinburgh to Peterborough towards the end of next week.

Because its such a long journey back, we were thinking of stopping off en route between Edinburgh and Peterborough for an overnight stay and taking the kids to a theme park or something. At least it breaks the journey for them.

Can anyone suggest anywhere between the two place, please? Best I can come up with is Alnwick (Harry Potter). TIA
