Why can I not delete my history

I wondered if any one knows why my pc will not let me delete my browsing history. In the past when I have deleted my history using 'Internet Options' it has cleared everything. It is now leaving some information on there.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

just highlight the individual items (control+a will do them all at once) and then hit delete

The place where they are still showing is in the box where you type in the internet address, there is a drop down box which is normally empty after I have deleted the history, but now has approx 8 sites still on there???? it is deleting history from today, but seems to still have history from a couple of days ago.

everything then clear.

Delete cookies, but first make sure you can remember passwords for any sites you regularly visit (like this one) because you will be asked for usernames/passwords next time you go there.

In the drop-down menu there is a small red x to the far right, click on it and the website goes.
