Quite right too bf. When you consider all this liquorice and sherbert and how kids used to get soo sticky when eating all this stuff it amazes me my mother ever got my school shirts so white (and I didn't even mention blue/black ink stains)!
Tiger nuts, 2d a bag. Are they still around? Tasted great but thoroughly indigestible.
Coconut mushrooms, cherry lips, torpedos and peanut brittle
Don't know whether they're from the 50's but Aniseed Twists/Cough Candy are the King of Sweets!
Not so much sweets, but how about those tiny liquorice lozenges called Meloids, available from chemists and came in a tin with a small hole in the corner from which you had to shake it.
These mike?

These must be the original versions looking at the boxes and if you look carefully they were made for boots!
No-one has mentioned Jamboree Bags have they?
Read this regarding jamboree bags ttfn.

Cheers bf. I think the j bags were much more fun than kinder eggs look - not that I have ever had the latter.
Google 'Sweets of the 50s' and you'll find 'em all there.
Sherbert Dabs, Bulls Eyes, Pear Drops, & loads more.
