Cursor sticking.

The cursor on my laptop keeps sticking and to rectify it I switch the machine off and then back on. It then has to reboot though, and takes a while.

Does anyone know of a way to stop it happening, or to rectify this without switching the bloomin' thing off?

BTW, it is a touch-pad, rather than a mouse.
