I jsut got confused because my friend said she can't eat yeasty stuff, but it turns out that aswell as being a vegan, her doctors put her on a yeast free and low sugar diet.
no ummm, i don't understand it either. i tried reading up on it but i can't actually find out WHY they don't, just that some don't. i can kind of understand why not honey, but even that's a bit difficult. it's probably something to do with the process involved in making/harvesting/producing it.
(d'you think i'd be excommunicated for comparing catholics to vegans if i was catholic?)
There are naturally occurring yeasts in the air around us all of the time, so everybody - vegan or otherwise - is ingesting yeasts whether they intend to or not.
So yes, vegans can eat yeast as they already will have been since the day they were born.
