European holiday destinations for 6 year old

Where's a decent resort to take my 6 year old daughter to? It'll next year and her 1st time abroad. Will be just me and her so require plenty to keep her occupied.

Just a beach based holiday, canaries, spain or somewhere. Hoping for waterparks etc.

maybe Majorca... and choose a hotel with pool near a beach too - and maybe also a waterpark within easy distance of travelling

we really enjoyed calan blanes in menorca - lots of little play parks which we enjoyed for a while each night before and after heading for dinner. Many friends have enjoyed various areas of menorca with their children.

Port Aventura in Spain near Barcelona.

Port Aventura is a sort of Disneyland with 4 hotels, a theme park and a water park all in the same complex. They also have an off-site beach complex.

If you stay at the hotels you get in the theme park free every day, and the water park free for one or two days (depending when you stay) and reduced price at other times.

We have stayed there twice and loved it both times.
