does anyone have any reviews on, or has anyone stayed at 'slayley hall' in hexham in newcastle please? .... is it nice/any good?

stayed there earlier this year, superb. ps its not in Newcastle so if you go there dont mention that.! Its miles outside Newcastle

That's a good point, Alexander.

Anyone getting a taxi from Newcastle station to Slayley Hall will find that the fare adds substantially to their stay! (It's about 22 miles).

Looking at the hotel's website, Loobyloo, shows that the Spa is an expensive extra. (There don't seem to be any packages which include any spa treatments). The Purely Holistic Programme' (lasting 3 hours 40 minutes) will set you back £229. There are cheaper options available but you'll still need quite a good budget.

Ignore the link to Michael Winner , he is a prize prat anyway. The place is in a lovely setting a few miles outside Hexham, Caters mostly for golfers but dont let that put you off, took my other half for a spa break weekend and she realy enjoyed it. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned decor-wise, but you are only sleeping there after all, I presume you will be out and about duting the day(weather permitting). Dont know what you are looking for really but its close to the Roman Wall and if shopping is your thing about half an hour from the Metrocentre. The food at Slayley is good but a bit expensive but if you book bed and breakfast there are plenty of places nearby to eat although Slayley does do all-Inclusive spa breaks.

PS: Hexham has its own railway station but it's still 7 miles away from Slayley Hall.

i assume the pool area and what not would be included in a two night stay?
ive heard it costs an extra £70 for a round of golf!

Chris I havent looked at there website but I dont live too far away and they often advertise all inclusive spa breaks in the local paper, in fact not long ago they were advertising two night breaks for £99

Just so you are aware, they have a timeshare arm at Slaley Hall.
