why doesn't anyone recognise..

Matt Allwright in his 'scam' programmes? He's certainly done enough of them, rogue builders, secret tourists etc. All he does is put on a pair of specs (bugbear with me as I wear specs) and a silly accent (I have a Scottish accent and people aways take the p).!

triggerhappytv springs to mind - it can't go on forever - dom joly is too welll known and his jokes/scams wear a bit thin!

i think allwright gets away with it because the 'scammers' arent expecting it (whereas viewers are), the make-up artists do a good job(?) and he can be quite convincing (suspend animation for a moment and imagine you're a scammer)......

That Denis Pennis seems to have disappeared as well! I was scammed in the Gare Du Nord station when a 'friendly' local said he could help me with the ticket machine, charged me £10 for a £1 ticket! Also I think I was nearly done in Barcelona when two people sat either side of me, one had lumps of wood hidden in a pram and asked me to look after her 'baby' while she got an ice cream, I walked away. Now I think I may come across as the unfriendly, rude one if I ignore genuine help. I always wrap my bag around me and am on the lookout all the time which kind of ruins the holiday!

its like on those 'the real hustle' programmes (bbc3) where they scam people, showing us viewers how its done and how to avoid it happening to ourselves.
anyway, most of the time the three of them arent dressed in disguise when these scams are taking place, so youd think theyd be recognised from the programme wouldnt you?
