Two questions....one about Computer one about mobile phone....

Firstly some advice.....if you have kids, never go on holiday leaving them in charge promising not to have a party. " Dad, it wasnt a party, it was a few friends round"

1) I have Samsung Laptop running windows XP. How can I see EXACTLY when it was last formatted and is there a way to return to how it was exactly BEFORE being reformatted ?

2) I have nokia new ( ish ) mobile phone. While away all txts wiped off some with addresses/tel numbers in. Can I retrieve these at all or not. I have phone and SIM card. Would phone shop/computer shop or any software assist ?

1) I can't think of a 100% reliable way to tell when a drive was formatted, but you can find out when windows was installed which should tell you pretty much the same thing.

1b) no you can't return it to how it was prior to formatting.

They must have done something pretty bad on your laptop to feel they had to reformat it so you couldn't see whatever it was!

I thought that too, Daffy, and also (no offence meant to MB7392's kids) they must be pretty slow if they didn't think it would be noticed!
