pretty sure it's saffron, weight for weight it's more expensive than gold

I would say saffron, though truffles are very expensive, never did get our dog to sniff them out in the Perigord region of France

A gram of Italian Aquila saffron will set you back �17.

In December 2004 the most expensive truffle went for �28,000. It weighed 1.88 lbs, which works out at around �32 a gram.

However, 0.35g of edible gold sprinkles will set you back $29, which works out at around �45 a gram.
