My Chambers dictionary shows " reesty"
reestie in my dictionary

another problem is that reesty has other meanings which do not mean stubborn.Essentially the word reest has the meaning required within the crossword after that it is probably guesswork. The Oxford dictionary has the word reesty which probably means that this the likely answer but it is by no means definitive since there are other meanings to reesty. My reason for accepting reests, as stated, was that reesty has other meanings. But if I had to make the judgement of a telegraph crossword compiler I would allow the REEST bit but I am not a crossword compiler and that is there final decision.I would love to be a fly on the wall when they have a meeting about this particular clue!
