Just read where a Saudi Judge has asked several hospitals to damage a man's spinal cord as punishment for a cleaver attack that left a 22yr old man paralysed! Apparently the attacker has been released from a 14th month prison sentence and the family want revenge! Makes you feel sick! Does the "eye for an eye" make people feel better!

personally, i find it quite fitting...a violent offence such as that surely deserves more than the paltry prison sentence they would be handed here? x

It wouldn't make me feel better. To cause such damage in a fight is completely different to doing it intentionally. It's pretty disgusting to expect a Doctor, they who save lives, to do such a thing.

Unless someone in the victims family is one . . . I would have thought this would put Saudis off crimes unless they are a criminal mastermind that knows how to get away with it.

Who are the people who chop off hands? Surely that's similar....

It would be a real bu88er if it turned out he was innocent. but not as bad as some of the other options allegedly offered by allah the merciful (peace..etc.)
