Poorly kitty?

My cat seems poorly today and I don't know what to do.

She's sleeping a lot and very droopy. We heard her this morning, sounding like she was vomiting but we haven't found any v anywhere. She's not had anything to eat or drink today either.

Is she just having a sleepy day?

Is this something that she'll just sleep off?

Or should I take her to the vet?

Thanks.

Ok well she has diarrhea and isn't eating.

She refuses to drink also. She is walking around a bit but is still just sleeping most of the time. she's cleaning herself at the moment.

I phoned the vet and they want to charge me 80 for a consult out of hours. Otherwise they say I can wait, starve her and try to get her to drink and then take her in tomorrow morning.

She's a year and a half. Shorthaired. She eats grass regularly but is never sick from it.

I would prefer to wait until tomorrow as I don't have a spare 80 laying around but I don't want her to get worse for me waiting. I love her dearly.

If you can't afford the 80 quid, is there a PDSA or animal charity clinic that you couyld take her to?
The fact that she is still interested in washing herself is a good sign.  Go to the vet asap though or a clinic, look in the Yellow pages and see.

Have you seen any rats around your locality.  Somebody might have put down rat poison on food as a bait.  Cats often vomit because of hair balls, etc. but if there is diarrorhea as well I'd get her checked out.

Mynx, how is your cat today?

Hi guys.

She looks soooo much better but I'm taking her to the vets this evening just to be on the safe side. Today she has eaten and had something to drink. :)

I will let you know what the vet says. Thanks for all your help!
