I recently found some old Super 8 Cine reels in the loft and would like to transfer them to DVD to show the grandchildren.
I doubt if I would be capable of doing this myself, even with instructions, so I was
wondering if anyone can suggest a reputable Company to me , together with the
approx. costs.
The reels are mainly about 3" across but a couple are 5".

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Thanks rojash.

It's more expensive than I thought it would be.
... but surely worth it for preserving priceless memories :-)

I agree Canary 42.

I'm going to have them done it is just that I thought it would be less expensive than it evidently is.

I'm very out of touch on such matters.

Thanks Ankou.
A google brought up this - which seems reasonable

Maybe a good idea to give them a ring and tell them exactly how many reels there are for an accurate quote.

Thanks to you too pauln 90.

I'll do as you suggest and give them a call.
One should be careful about choosing cheap.

Some outfits screen the films via projector onto a screen and the then video them with a video camera, the end result very disappointing.

I had mine processed by this company 'Timeless Moments'.they do alot of work for BBC & ITV.

I think it was about £60 for 41 minutes running time, which consisted of quite a number of reels of various sizes.

Each frame is examined for defects etc, music is added and presented in a professional DVD box with scenes from the films printed on it.

Send them an Email or give them a ring I don't think you will be dissatisfied.
