Switch between PC's

At present I have 2 PC's on my desk at work, which have different uses. What I want to know is - instead of having 2 screens and 2 keyboards etc - is there some sort of switching device available that would enable me to have one screen / one keyboard / one mouse and choose which hard drive box to connect to..
I don't want to put everything on one PC for reasons of security - other people have to use the wages PC (when I am on holiday) and the other PC can only be accessed by myself.
(The reason they have to use this PC is that it is hardwired to the attendance recording system)
