msn problem

Why is it that sometimes when I type my message i need to click SEND because hitting RETURN doesn't work. At these times I don't get the 'tootling' noise when I get a new message - I have to hope I spot the new message at the bottom of my screen. Most of the time it's ok and sometimes it seems to switch from fully functional to the problems I've mentioned and vice versa

i have not had that kind of trouble on msn although i know there are lots of vb written programs that can "lag" msn connections, dont be surprised if its not someone messing about with the programs! From what you have said would seem like that as its intermittent and does correct itself! other thing you can try is your obvious virus scans, uninstall and re-install msn its self? long winded and boring but worth a try if problem persists?
