sex after giving birth
29 Answers
hi, i gave birth last week (you may have read my post about it in "pregnancy")
I am not seeing any midwives/health visitors owing to the circumstances of the birth. I was given 1 weeks worth of antibiotics owing to the circumstances too. I have stopped bleeding and would very much like to be close to my husband. How long do i have to wait before we can do it again? sorry for too much info! :)

Sometimes just touching (and I don't mean in the obvious places) is in itself far more intimate. Just lying together in the dark stroking one another's backs, arms, faces etc, can feel much closer than sex. It's good that you want this though, and that you aren't letting what has happened come between you - far better to grieve together than to retreat from each other, it can only help your relationship x

Hi bednobs, in answer to your question I don't think there is a particular time limit to wait its just whatever you feel comfortable with.
I am so sorry about your loss and hope the time you had with her was special for you. I send you my best wishes for the future and I know you will get through this very tough time together. Take care of yourself.
