We all know that music can affect our moods but this is mainly due to the wording followed by the music but can singular sounds or fluctuating or vibrating frequencies affect our state of mind without alcohol or drugs?

My state of mind is constantly affected by mindless music from ipods etc., the constant Prince Philips buzzing from people on the train or walking down the street, whose earphones don't appear to fit, drives me crazy. I really dislike extraneous unnecessary noise. Rant over.
