With our summers being a washout year after year it's no wonder that Christmas is the highlight of our year because with Christmas we know it's going to be freezing, miserable and we will put on weight, spend all of our wages and will tolerate hated friends and relatives into our homes with forced smiles. Yep unlike summer at least we know whats coming with Christmas.

I booked our staff christmas party this February - but that's cos there'll be 60 of us, and we want the best venue, the best food, and a private party room so we can be disgraceful (there's always the risk of patients observing us pished, swearing and being very provocative on the dance floor.....)
However my own personal christmas planning does not start until the beginning of december at the earliest.

I did see the big tins of chocolates in Tesco this morning and think ' ooh, that time of year already?'.
Having said that, I do already have quite a few stocking fillers that ive bought just over the last few weeks. It just makes sense to me to pick up things I now the girls will like when I see them and an extra couple of pounds every week is less stressful on my purse than buying it all in one go in December ( altough I have been putting money aside for Christma since January ).
