Answerbank people

I used to be a regular on this site but stopped being around in June. I was just wondering what's new, different etc on answerbank and with answerbank people between then and now - I saw below that andyhughes had left. Any other updates? (PS I think this just about qualifies as a question - not chat, if I'm wrong I'm sure the ed will relocate my q in due course - Chatterbank is also new to me)

Hey hun,

Right - let me try ot update you. 

• Artful has gone.  She's ok, still not in the best of health, and her father passed away, but we keep in touch and she's ok.
• I left in August, but came back a few weeks later, under a new name.  Big drama at the time, but nothing actually worth reporting. 
• There has been an influx of newbies... many of whom are suspected of being the same person, or at least people in the same playground/office.  These ones who are often seen to try to cause havoc tend to be in CB, although the odd strange post has appeared in other sections. 
• I heard that some other valued members left, but off the top of my head, I'm ashamed to admit, I can't remember exactly whom! *blushes*

Glad that you're new job is going well.  Can't believe it's that long since you left! :-)  We've missed you... I certainly have anyway! :-)

Welcome back, Lillabet!! This is probably not a good time to try out Chatterbank for the first time. I'm usually a regular visitor there - I don't mind a bit of silliness and surrealism as a nice break from the serious business of answering sensible questions - but just lately it's got a bit stupid even for me, so I've been cutting back a bit. Oh well, maybe when the school holidays are over... :-)

Can someone fill me in on why andyhughes left please? He was the first person to answer my first ever question on AB and I always looked out for his advice after that - I thought I hadn't seen him around, but I haven't been on AB too often lately!

In a Pickle has also reappeared this week, having it seems been posing as mystress for the last 6 months or so. I grumbled that this was bad behaviour, and he apologised handsomely, so all is well.

There are some extremely... assertive users on CB and elsewhere, frequently foulmouthed. Decide for yourself whether you want to engage them in polite conversation or just play Mozart at them till they melt.

Nice to hear from you again lillabet.Im afraid I have to agree with jno about chatterbank.blimey, I use to talk more with the regulars before we had C.B.So if it   disappeared  overnight I wouldnt miss it.Yep inapickles back,well he never really went away!!did bug mention she's acw.(:)catch you later, vin(:)

Hey Vin - I'd told Lillabet who I really am that in another thread... so I wasn't trying to hide! :-p :-)  I still think it's a pity that Andy Hughes has gone, and also that Lillabet herself is only around for the weekend. 

I also agree with the sentiments about CB.  Sometimes I feel like joining in, other times... it just gets ridiculous.  I do wonder if it was a daft idea, but at least it keeps the loonies together most of the time! :-)

Nice to see you Lillabet.  Have missed you. 

Like Vinny, I tend to chat less now we have ChatterBank as, although there are some good folk around there, there are also a lot of inane postings. .  I recently aired my feelings on a thread in Suggestions regarding brightening up the Answerbook and the reply I got just proved my point.

Hope to see you around more often.

The new job is going really well thanks for asking. Lots of training courses and so on over the past few months and more to come. I'm on a course from tomorrow for the whole month. These are the main reasons for not being around since June.

I will be popping in on the odd weekend and from time to time - I need to keep up with all the changes after all. As for the odd / downright unpleasant answer bank users they have always been an element haven't they? It's just when someone's abusive that it takes all the fun away....

I hope it's nothing bad that's made andy wander off. How about other regulars such as smudge and netibiza are they still about?

Welcome back if only for short visits.  I can only echo what several others, (littleoldme,Vinny, FP) have said.  It's a shame, I miss the weekend fun we had when AB ed wasn't looking!  Hope Ed is looking at this thread but it's probably too late to 'go back'.  I think changes need to be made regarding newcomers.  Yes, we were all new once but you all know what I mean - it took me two months to pluck up the courage to speak!
I'm going to talk to my son about setting me up with a little site of my own - he's so good at that -so I will be spending less time here probably.

smudge & neti are still here but not as often as I'd like to see them.
