I'm trying to find the reason why the jets on the above cooker will not ignite. The manual has long gone as I was hoping that I could look at the circuit to see where the igniter was located.Has anyone any ideas please?? Thanks!!!

You should be able to find a box or cover with the igniter parts in it. Is it battery operated or mains? If battery, maybe run down.

Thanks for that AB it's a battery op. igniter.I've looked at the site you gave I didn't realise there were so many Stratford models and I can't find the "number" part of it anywhere,so I'll have to go through them until I find the likeliest answer...Thanks again!!!
Doesn't the top unscrew and pivot up? ... Or maybe chack for wires to outlets and trace back.I have seen fitted in small container above a base drawer after it's removed, and also under a cover on the back.

Thanks again AIB,the site you gave me was of help the bty was located bottom left at front of the cooker.I've changed the bty but the igniting of the gas rings isn't 100%.sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.I'll keep searching through site to see if they give an answer. Thanks again!!
Usually you need to take the surrounds off of the spark discharge points and clean up there. They get dirty and then track internally, so you don't get a light.

I've cleaned them all with a not too coarse wire brush without any joy!!
Look around when using the ignitor to see if you can see sparks tracking anywhere.
Hi

Its really easy. if you look at the front of cooker left hand side below the oven door there is a small black covering just larger than an aa battery. Carefully prise it off and the battery is located on the rear of this plate.
