Not much you can do ..
The oil in some dogs coats is quite pungent .. Labradors tend to be like this.
Invest in Febreze!
I guess this is the german shapherd you mentioned the other day? I know its a bit big but if you could bath her in a good quality dog shampoo regularly it will help. Ask your vet to recommend one
When I was a child my sisters and I used to bathe our 'smelly' dog with our shampoo and then add a bit of cheap cologne or perfume in her 'rinsing' water.
My daughter bought some doggy cologne from pets at home for our mutt, must admit it smells lovely! Mind you as I tell her, he's a dog, he's meant to smell doggy!
what 'make ' is she.
regular baths , shampoo and conditon the dog + spray fabreeze everywhere, my stair carpet gets ever so pongy [ we have two shar peis] luckily all our floors are laminate and just need the steam mop over them. Also have one of those air purifiers advertised on shopping channel and put that on about 30mins before guests arrive, well worth investing in one.
Good luck with the new dog I am sure she is lovely.
This is one of the reasons i prefer cats! lol
You could try some wipes. Have a look at pet planet's website - just type "wipe" in the search box.

I use the cat versions on the mog when he's rolled in something unspeakable.
You can get dog wipes from Poundland but a good bath in equal parts of Anti bacterial soap ( i.e. hand wash) and white vinegar works a treat.
Ellie B could this be the same dog you were asking for behavioural advice for on another thread?
I bathe my mastiff with Infacare. Gentle and won't hurt their eyes. And smells gorgeous. Remove carpets and spray with Febreze any soft furnishings.
