Do you think the scandal involving Pakistan in today's NOTW has ruined the credibility of cricket in general? Interesting to see pleas for charity donations re the Pakistan flood disaster during the ad breaks for Sky TV's Test coverage - would the cricket scandal influence any thoughts you may have had about donating to that cause? Anyone know the attitude of Islam towards corruption?

I no more associate the cricket scandal with Pakistan as horse-racing scandals with Ireland.
A person or persons did it, not the country.
It certainly wouldn't stop me donating to those poor people. I just wish I could be sure it will get to them. Government corruption is not just an Islamic problem.
I agree 101% Mojo-Jo-Jo

No times to criticises Pakistan, whether its Cricket or Muslims/Islam - eliminating the state of Muslims in the world today, innocent people are dying fast by the minute from a natural cause and they need help pretty fast with donations
*No time to criticise
It was the introduction of spread betting that allow these frauds to take place. To be able to bet on a bye shows how corrupt society has become. The betting on such occurrencers should be banned.

The Pakistan Taliban urged thast donations should not be accepted and to counter this we have donated more than £40m. Its like a popularity contest......we are giving more than you so come on our side. It turns out that's the reason why Britain donates so much money to these causes...just to win influence. Some would say its not the best way to win friends. The US is the most generous nation on earth and look at how the rest of the world treats them.
Scandal has always followed the Pakistan Cricket team.

Whether you feel that it is reasonable or not, the are ambassadors of the country of Pakistan, just as a school cricket team is representative of that school.
It's got nothing to do with cricket in particular . It is a way of life especially in the sub-continent.
They rip us off at every opportunity and our public servants are too gullible to see it. e.g . They take the word of corrupt Pakistani officials that all is above board. Even Pakistani charity workers in this country take donations out there personally because they don't trust the officials in their own country . We on the other hand , hand over millions with little control over how it is spent.
