I've looked on the wikipedia website but it isn't clear. I thought it possible falls under the "make a nusiance" section in which case it is not moral turpitude?

Is this likely to cause a problem for a US Visa?

The other problem is I will be travellign to the US before 12th Jan 09 on a cruise and then returning after - so how will that work?

no,read all the other posts on this subject, there are loads.
I'm not sure about the date - I think it's just for entry after January 12 you need to fill out a form online, but as you can do this already you'd probably be wise to do it. And personally I'd forget about my cautions; the USA won't have access to UK police records.
I would fill out the ESTA form now (it is valid for 2 years) and it will say there and then if you are able to enter the USA. Better to find out now than be turned back at the airport eh?
The ESTA form will only give you a "you're free to travel" answer based on you answering all the as a NO. It does not automatically go and search police databases and does not stop you from being rejected at Port of Entry
This wiki article does not outline all US laws for all US states and in each state the law can vary. If you are referring to the wiki article harassment could be classed as Gross Indecency which is a crime involving moral turpitude. This is why the US embassy states if you have an arrest or conviction you need to get a visa - basically - let us decide not you. More importantly is your admission of the crime. You accepted a police caution and in doing so admitted your guilt. See the link below. This is more applicable to your travel dillema.
