in the midland they officially go back on wednesday although mine are off until next monday (bless those teacher training days...)

The secondary state schools here go back on the 1st but the primary schools don't go back until the week after.

The nippers school have a "staff training day" then they have a day when the new arrivals have a day with just the year above in case they get frightened.
Whe Iwere a lad they formed a tunnel at the gates for the newbies and kicked the

The schools in Harlow Essex differ, in my grandchildren's school, Year 7 (just starting secondary school) go back on Wednesday and Thursday and then the other years start on Friday; other schools in the same area have different times and days. It depends on the actual school and what they have decided.
