Hi NM, their son has gone up to Inverness this morning (7 hour drive with his GF) to idnetify his parents bodies. Terribel ordeal but he's been a police officer for nearly a year now and has seen some terrible things already, still, nothin like this for him, poor lad. I've been to buy a sympathy card but felt nothing was right, I picked up one for mum and one for dad and then put them both back. i don't think any will mean anything to him just now. He's being looked after by the police though, they're keeping the press away,

Hi Dris, it happened near Aviemore, they've been going up there with their prode and joy harley for years, they weren't stupid on it and so far their son has said to mine that a french vehicle was involved, maybe on the wring side if the carriageway or some such, my lad is going to see him tomorrow when they get back,

I can't imagine how anyone can cope losing parents like that when he's only 23, no amount of police training and experience sets you up for that, terrible thing, when the police came to the house on sunday his nan, who lives with them, thought they were there to say somethin had happened to her grandson! She was shaking before they uttered a word apparently.

I thought he'd be staying over in inverness but my lad has just had a text from him saying they are half way home. Probably wants to be with his sister and nan at home .

Dot -believe they might have been at 'Thunder in the Glens'.The A9 is a terrible road and has claimed many lives and continues to.Its in my neck of the woods.
Its been a terrible weekend up here -wish they would just cancel the bleeding August Bank Holiday -causes nothing but grief.
I feel terribly for their children -I cannot begin to comprehend how they feel -it was bad enough for mine when it was just one.
My thoughts are with those poor souls -life wont ever be the same again.
As per the pics are in the papers -totally unneccesary..........your boy will need to garner all his strength but hopefully they have family as well :(

My youngest feels totally inadequate I can tell, the two of them went to a fancy dress do about 6 weeks ago dressed as batman and robin and they were always the two to keep a place lively, daft pair together they are. It;s alot of growing up to do very quickly

Well I've been readin that many sympathy cards today, written by professional verse writing type people and not one of them seemed to say enough, or some said too much, i dunno.

When I ran the two lads to that party, my grandson was in the car in the front and they were in the back in their costumes and when i'd picked P. up at his house, his dad and whispered to me to pretend the car was breaking down as i got close to the hall and make them run the rest of the way 'like delboy and rodney' he said and winked at me!! that;'s the last time i saw them. They needed the cash machine and my grandson took a picture of them both at the hole in the wall in their costumes lol
