a question of travel to the USA

In another post I posted a question on travelling to the USA - Florida

I have applied for my ETSA online and it has been approved and purchased my flight tickets the ETSA asked me all sorts of questions which for any 'everyday' person the anwser would be 'No' I do not intend on committing any acts of Terrorism or conducting any drug related crimes.

however... when the question of commiting crimes on moral turpitude appeared I freted a little because in 2007 I was charged and convicted with 'harrasment' against my ex (for sending her text messages - Silly man yes I know), but I gathered this didnt fall under the umbrella for moral turpitude as it doesnt seem like some big time crime I only got community service and this is and was and will be my only crime

should I panick or do something else or just go along with the flow? maybe I should tell the US embassey in London or would I be rattling unecessary cages?

can anyone please advise me?

From reading many, many posts on this subject on here, I'd suggest that you haven't done anything that they'd ban you for.

I think your phrase 'rattling unneccessary cages' is spot on.

Thanks I agree, I was a little concerned I mean if they see 'harrassing' as something I would conduct in the USA they are wrong, frankley I just wanna go out there meet my 'lady friend' and have a good time,
At the border control if they ask me if I have any convictions I shall be straight up and honest and explain I cant see myself being deported as an illegal Alien.

In reply to your previous question I tried to provide a link to the official definition of 'moral turpitude', as used by US immigration staff. On checking back on that post I now see that my link failed to work. Here's another attempt:

As far as I can tell 'harassment' probably isn't classed as 'moral turpitude' (The USA's rules seem rather strange to most Brits. Nicking a Mars bar is classed as 'moral turpitude'. Assaulting someone, leaving him injured and unconscious, usually isn't!).

My recommendation would be to simply keep quiet about your conviction but please don't blame me (or anyone else here on AB) if that advice turns out to be flawed.

I'm always mystified by that phrase "moral turpitude" -sounds like something you wash paintbrushes in to me.

nah I wouldnt blame anyone, and yes it does seem ok in my circumstance.

and it does sound like something you clean brushes with rather silly like white spirit or turpintine...
